The first thing I noticed about The Biscuit Co was the gorgeous exposed brick that lined the east side of the restaurant. The wall also featured a 4 panel mural of a very old western “standoff” between a cowboy and GIANT ALIEN. For a small restaurant, it was very spacious, with a large island bar in the center, surrounded by tables with matching red tops with a stainless steel boarder. We were able to find a spot at the pool table to wait for our table, giving us a chance to pre-game before our meal.
We got sat at a table in the center of the restaurant, but there was plenty of space between us an the other customers. Unfortunately, there wasn’t enough space to save the restaurant from Joanie’s biscuit-and-gravy catapult, which ended up in another patron’s hair….But back to the restaurant.
The menu was all biscuit-oriented breakfast food, but they also offered pizza for some odd variety. I really enjoyed the club biscuit sandwhich, which came with a lot of bacon (something most restaurants are noticeably bad at). Jason ordered “The Franklin”, which was a Biscuits and Gravy specialty sandwich that he seemed to enjoy. Megan had chicken with a biscuit/strawberry Jam. Overall I think we were all pertty content with the food.
The drink menu was surprisingly diverse. Aside from the token “botomless mimosa” that you see at every brunch spot, Jason was able to get a “super-mimosa” that came with infused vodka. The drink menu had a lot of whiskey options as well, accompanied by decent beer list that would have been welcomed by the most seasoned alcoholics.
Service was pretty quick. We asked for a second drink menu and within 30 seconds another server had placed it on the table. We even got some support from the bar staff after Joanie’s incident.
Overall I would say it was a pleasant experience. There wasn’t much to complain about besides an uncomfortable bar stool. The ambience was fine, and the music wasn’t super loud which was nice, I often feel like I have to talk over the music or other patrons at brunch but this was a really pleasant experience.
