Root Down came highly recommended for brunch and did not disappoint. Located in the Highlands, Root Down is set in a converted garage with the floor being a recycled basketball court creating a unique ambience unlike anywhere else. The ambiance gives a sustainable vibe that is carried over into the food selection. The menu provides options for all dietary needs focusing on organic, natural, and local ingredients without sacrificing anything in the flavor department. The prices might be a little higher than average for brunch but Root Down is well worth the cost shown by the high value score.
This week for Brunch we had all 8 members of the Mile High Brunch club (#MHBC) present to enjoy the 2nd highest rated place to date. As you can see from the scores everything was highly rated with the best aspect being the food and drinks. I do not know about you but the reason I go to brunch is to enjoy delicious food and bottomless drinks. The blood orange mimosas are fantastic, the menu has plenty of unique/delicious options, and portion size will fill you up. As much as we all enjoyed our experience nothing is perfect. The two things root down could improve upon are quicker refills on the bottomless mimosas causing the lower service rating and a better parking situation as there is no lot. However, I do not think this should deter anyone from going, as Root Down is a great brunch spot whose scores will be tough to match. I encourage anyone who has not been to try Root Down but remember to make your reservations early as it is always packed. I cannot wait to go back again when my family visits in May.
